We have started a new tradition at our house. Each Saturday night, one of us picks a movie and we all watch it together. Now, we have four different takes on the movie that we can talk to death. At our house, we all have very strong opinions. It also gives us an opportunity to see a movie we may not have ever watched otherwise. Have fun trying to figure out who picked which movie. Movie night!

Macbeth. Have you seen it? This was my second time watching this adaptation of the Shakespeare play. I absolutely love this one. Everything about it is stunning. Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard are AMAZING.
One caveat that I would give you is this: you need to know going into this film what is happening. If you’ve never read the play or seen any kind of adaptation, you may get lost. They use the wording straight out of ol’ William’s play and with the Scottish accents everyone in the movie uses….But what do I know, you may be WAY smarter than I am and won’t have a bit of trouble keeping up.
I have no idea why none of the cast was nominated for an Academy Award or an Emmy or something, because they deserved it. The “out, damn’d spot” scene should have won her an award on its own. I’m ready to watch it again.
Go watch it tonight and tell me what you think!
You can find all of the other movies we’ve watched lately, here if you are interested!
Haven’t saw this particular version, but I’m going to put it on my to watch list. Michael Fassbender is a very good actor. The Patrick Stewart version of Macbeth is also very good, if you can find it.
Now I need to absolutely find it – love, love, LOVE Patrick Stewart!
